Mahakumbabhishekam In Brahadeeswarar Temple Gangaikondacholapuram

Thousands of devotees witnessed the ‘mahakumbabhishekam’ at Sri Brahadeeswarar Temple at Gangaikondacholapuram near here on Thursday. Special pujas were performed at the ‘yaga salai’ by priests. 2.02.2017 At about 8.30 a.m., the priests took the ‘gadam’ containing the holy water of the Ganges to the shrines and vimanams of Brahadeeswarar, Brahanayaki, Durga, and Ganapathy.

Sculptures Of Jain Tirthankaras Found Near Jangaon

The sculptures of Jain Tirthankaras were found in an abandoned state on a hillock near Jangaon town, indicating a pre-historic presence of practice of Jainism in Jangaon district. The hillock called as ‘Bommala Gutta and Siddhula Gutta’ in local parlance, is situated at Siddenki village, which is three kilometres away from famous Kolanpaka Jain Temple and 10 kilometres from Jangaon.

Five-day float festival to begin on March 8

The five-day annual float festival at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara is scheduled to begin on March 8. The processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy, donning various incarnations of Lord Maha Vishnu, will be paraded on a colourfully bedecked flotilla and drawn around in the holy waters of the Pushkarini after sunset on all the days during the festival period.
