The five-day annual float festival at the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara is scheduled to begin on March 8. The processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy, donning various incarnations of Lord Maha Vishnu, will be paraded on a colourfully bedecked flotilla and drawn around in the holy waters of the Pushkarini after sunset on all the days during the festival period. While the temple management has dispensed with the performance of the evening sevas on the first two days, it has called off all the post-noon sevas on the last three days of the festival.
