The hill Ardhagiri literally translates to half mountain, which was a fallen part of Sanjeevani Mountain transported by Lord Hanuman in Tretayuga.Hence, the name Ardhagiri and the temple was dedicated to Lord Hanuman


People’s believe that Sanjeevini dropped into the Pushakarini and that is why the water in the pool never dried. And also believes that drinking water from Pushkarini cures all types of diseases as it contains medicinal properties.
