Sri Daneswari Ammavari Temple is located at Duvva in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The presiding deity is Goddess Parvathi in the form of Sri Daneswari Devi.
The temple was built 40 years ago. Before 1967 there was a tree worshipped by devotees in the form of Vana Devata Danamma. The tree was collapsed in 1967. Then local devotees built a temple and installed Sri Daneswari Ammavaru. There are shrines for Goddess Saraswathi and Goddess Lakshmi Devi beside the main deity. There is a Koneru after the main entrance.
Sri Daneswari Ammavari Temple Duvva
It is believed that sage Durvasa had performed Yagna here. While performing Yagna a divine Shakti came out as prasada from the fire and believed to be Dhanyeswari and later it has been changed to Daaneswari. As Durvasa performed penance here the place was known as Durvasapuri and later it has been changed to Duvva.
